Eugene’s father decided to move their family out of Brooklyn, NY and build a home in Ringoes, when he was in second grade. He was always grateful that his dad made this decision, as he felt a kinship to the green earth since he could remember. Hunterdon County is his home, and he feels a responsibility to keep it the way it’s been – a rural community. He met his wife, Debbie during his college years and they decided to stay in Hunterdon, grow roots with the business and serve the community by keeping Hunterdon green and healthy.
Eugene’s passion is to be outside, working with Nature, encouraging plants to thrive. He loves when his customers share his passion, and when they are just as thrilled to see their new landscapes as he was to design and build them. Eugene feels like he shares a sense of joy when he hears from happy customers about their continued appreciation and care for the plants and surroundings.
Eugene leans on his education and experience to create landscapes and features that thrive in our environment by using industry best practices. Hill Landscaping takes all necessary steps to ensure that we are doing business to the highest integrity, legal and ethical standard. Our employees are continually trained, cared for, and given the best tools to do the job correctly and with the utmost care. We use equipment that is not going to destroy lawns, driveways or existing plantings. Most importantly, we leave the property in great shape, even when performing routine duties such as a cleanup or pruning.
Eugene and his team just completed a multifaceted project for us and we could not be happier on the final outcome. The recommendations he made I believe was the difference between a good outcome vs a great outcome. It started with the initial scoping/estimation interview and went throughout the project. During the initial interview he was making design suggestions and ruling out certain plantings that I wanted based on the environment where others did not. His knowledge and foresight is unmatched. His team was also great, they worked on the project like it was their own home - very impressed from start to finish - If you have an upcoming project, you need to at least interview Hill Landscaping, then you can decide for yourself.

I loved the experience working with Hill Landscaping. Eugene Hill was professional and knowledgable regarding the redesign of my front walk and I was extremely happy with the outcome. I was especially impressed with his artistic abilities in creating exactly what I wanted. His crew were friendly and respectful and the whole job took only a few days. The plants, trees and shrubs are all healthy and look great. I highly recommend using Hill Landscaping.

I just moved to Bucks County, we have a lovely home, however it was hidden by over-planting, and was void of negative space. My daughter suggested calling Gene, who I have known for years, and have seen a lot of his finished work. Gene and his crew (who by the way are wonderful at what they do) will finish the "work-in-progress" of Phase 1 tomorrow and what a difference. It brings a smile to my face to drive up my driveway and actually see my home. No longer hidden behind overgrown shrubs, grasses and trees. I am so happy! Gene came to my house, listened to me about what I envisioned for our landscaping and he provided me with wonderful ideas and I could not be happier.

Eugene, Deb and their team at Hill Landscaping did an amazing job putting sod around our pool. They worked cleanly, were very professional, friendly and responsive. They even went above and beyond to tie up a tree that had fallen over in a storm. We will certainly call them for more projects and would recommend them to anyone else too.

I've known Gene Hill for decades and have often recommended him to others. Finally it was time to spruce up my own property, so I made the call. Not one iota of disappointment ensued, for the job was completed professionally, pleasantly and thoroughly. I was consulted regarding any questionable details by the crew members, whose aim was to do the job I wanted. Now a big smile breaks over my face when I view my "new look", including a magnificent blue spruce that replaces a defunct maple just in time for the holidays. Thanks Gene for the fine job I knew you would do even before I hired you!
